Abstinence

I know at the beginning of class when you announced that this would be one of our assignments, people freaked out and were nervous about having to go without media or technology for two days, but I found it easy. Maybe it's because where I work I easily get distracted from having to use my cell phone, but I did it and it was too easy. I did it one weekend when I had to go to work (well, every weekend I have to work). All we use is PC computers so that was one of the easy parts. Also, instead of using my cell phone, I used a phone provided by the company. Even though it has touch-screen technology and some other nifty technology on it, it constituted as following through with the assignment. If I recall correctly, I think I did bring my cell phone with me, but it was in my locker for each 8 hour day. I informed my family members that I was doing the assignment, so I had no trouble with wanting to take a glance at it. I am tempted now after I have successfully completed this, to extend the challenge to my fellow co-workers and family, just to see how they react to the commitment and if they are able to do it. When I told my family about the assignment, they made the comment about when I was little and had to go without TV for a whole week. I think that was harder than this task because it was and still is my go-to for entertainment. Thanks for the challenge, and I think that I will make this something I will try to do every once in a while.
